Ford Co-Pilot 360™
Ford has been at the forefront of safety innovation for over 100 years.
In 1955, Ford held the first National Safety Forum in Dearborn, Michigan to showcase upcoming safety technology for their lineup of vehicles by crashing two Ford Fairlanes occupied by crash test dummies (appropriately named FERD). Ford was also the first company to install safety glass in every single vehicle starting in 1927. Over the years, Ford has continued to innovate safety in new and exciting ways, including their incredible Ford Co-Pilot 360™ technology.
Staying safe out on the road is top-of-mind for Scottsdale families on the move and Ford Co-Pilot 360™ helps by providing an extra set of eyes while out on the road. Even if you may not see danger, Ford Co-Pilot 360™ is always watching and can help you avoid a major collision. On top of safety, Ford Co-Pilot 360™ also makes towing and driving easier.
From parking in downtown Scottsdale to taking a road trip to the Grand Canyon, Ford Co-Pilot 360™ has your back.
What Does Ford Co-Pilot 360™ Do?
Ford Co-Pilot 360™ is a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies that use dozens of sensors and cameras to continuously scan for other vehicles, pedestrians, and other road obstructions. These sensors and cameras feed the information to the vehicle's central computer and help keep your vehicle from colliding with obstructions by applying the brakes, moving the steering wheel automatically, and/or sounding alarms. This means a Ford vehicle equipped with Ford Co-Pilot 360™ can stop itself or steer out of the way instead of colliding with a vehicle in front or to the side.
There are many common scenarios where these advanced safety systems can help avoid a potential collision. For example, if you take your eyes off the road and don't realize the vehicle in front of you has stopped, Pre-Collision Assist® with Automatic Emergency Braking can automatically apply the brakes and bring your vehicle to a stop. Perhaps you're on a long road trip and you fall asleep at the wheel, the Lane-Keeping System will automatically maintain your lane by following lane markings and prevent you from drifting into other lanes or other oncoming traffic.
In addition to advanced safety technology, these same sensors and cameras can be used to make driving easier. Out on the open road, Ford vehicles take the cruise control system to the next level with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control that automatically keeps a set distance from the vehicle in front of you and includes Speed Sign Recognition to notify the driver of speed limit changes by automatically reading speed limit signs. Active Park Assist 2.0 can make pulling into a perpendicular parking spot a snap by automatically measuring the space and pulling the vehicle right in.
The real question is, what can't Co-Pilot 360™ do?
What Driver Assist Features Does Co-Pilot 360™ Include?

What Is Ford Co-Pilot 360™ 2.0?
Ford Co-Pilot 360™ 2.0 offered an additional level of driver assistance on early versions of the Ford Mustang Mach-E® and Ford Lightning® truck.
The Co-Pilot360™ 2.0 standard package includes Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross-Traffic Alert, Pre-Collision Assist® with Automatic Emergency Braking, Post-Collision Braking, Rear View Camera, Reverse Brake Assist, and Reverse Sensing System.
In addition to these standard features, certain pre-owned Ford Mustang Mach-E® vehicles also include the option for Active Drive Assist, which is Ford's very first version of hands-free driving. Yes, you heard that right. Active Drive Assist allows for hands-free driving on more than 130,000 miles of highways in all 50 states and Canada. All the driver needs to do is pay attention to the road ahead, and the Mustang Mach-E® will do the rest.
On new Ford models, Active Drive Assist has been replaced by BlueCruise (Version 1.3), which includes additional enhancements to the self-driving capabilities. BlueCruise is a top-rated automated driving system, recently beating out other manufacturers in a Consumer Reports test. Unlike Adaptive Cruise Control, BlueCruise can do everything from change lanes to slow down for upcoming curves in the road without input from the driver. Trust us, it is just as cool as it sounds!
