What Is FordPass® Connect?

You may have already heard of the FordPass® app which offers some vehicle controls and functionality. This connected hub is available for Ford drivers to download onto their Android smartphone via the Google Play Store or onto their iPhone via the App store.

FordPass® Connect takes it a step further working in conjunction with the FordPass® app by integrating a modem directly into newer model year Ford vehicles. This new functionality is based on embedded hardware that offers an internet connection, right from your driver or passenger seats.

Using your VIN (vehicle identification number) to connect to your vehicle, FordPass® Connect offers high-tech convenience and safety features at your fingertips in the vehicle and on your mobile phone. This becomes a hub for connected vehicle features including vehicle data, live traffic info, and an integrated Wi-Fi Hotspot. This is available on FordPass® Connected vehicles, including some 2017, 2018, and 2019 models, as well as all 2020 and later model year vehicles.

Losing connectivity is a thing of the past with the integrated in-vehicle 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot. Available on 2018 and newer vehicles with FordPass® Connect, this gives you and your passengers mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot capabilities-perfect for work on the go, streaming video in the backseat, or checking in when you're adventuring. Up to 10 personal devices within 50 feet of the vehicle can connect wirelessly without worrying about network availability.

Using the AT&T nationwide wireless network, you can test drive this feature for up to 3 months or 3 GB of data, whichever comes first. Once the trial period is over, you can select the AT&T hotspot data plan that's right for you and your family to ensure everyone can continue to connect.

Available on 2022 F-150s, FordPass® Connect includes some additional functionality for truck owners to help them work hard and play harder. With the integrated Pro Power Onboard™ system, owners can monitor and control how much energy the available onboard AC outlets are using, as well as defining power modes for future use. If the job lasts longer than the daylight does, up to four perimeter lighting zones can be activated remotely on the exterior of the truck.

If taking the boat along is more your speed, FordPass® Connect simplifies towing! A pre-trip safety checklist is integrated to help you ensure you're heading out safely. This includes a trailer light check to confirm that your truck and trailer lights are all working properly before you hit the road. Real-time monitoring detects if the wiring harness is disconnected and issues you a trailer theft alert, keeping your investments protected.
